I promised you a lifetime of happiness
A lifetime of wedded bliss
I promised you an eternity of love
That angels speak of in heaven above
I promised you a house with lovely ever greens
Far beyond what your imaginations ever seen
I promised I'd keep you warm through those cold
nights
Shine the way for you, I'd be your guiding light
I promised you I'd chase away your fears
Comfort you and wipe away your tears
I promised our love a place amongst the stars
Blazing eternally way up afar
I promised you every bit of my heart
A lifetime together and that we'd never part
But God opened his arms and said my time had come
It's time for me to go, to heaven was my new home
So for all the promises I made are now all broken
The promises I spoke of are now all unspoken.....
