A Sunset

Contributed by Smooth on Thursday, 5th December 2002 @ 10:00:00 AM in AEST
Topic: LovePoetry

The crisp mountain tops with their heavenly view, the low lying hills and valleys drenched in a sunset song. Skys of crystal blue, electric and bright, the passing of cotton clouds, like marshmellows drifting across the breath of an east bound breeze. A spectrum array of boundless color, from fiery red to violet velvet, citrus orange to cool mint. These are the shadows that paint the land, coating all with their rich spring taste born from the setting sun. The rivers and streams cloaking themselves in the borrowed beauty, reflecting the merriment in the mirrored like surface that is their skin. Oh yes, unbridled beauty surrounds us every day, encompasses our dreams and thoughts when ever we take a moment to gaze upon it. But when we seize that moment, the flowers seem to jump out and grasp our soul, the sounds of the world around us permeate our subconscience, and we can taste mother nature in the musical breeze that dances through the trees. On those days we find ourselves blessed, we find it so easy to enjoy the beauty of merely being alive, and oh, what a glorious gift. Not just to breathe, but to breathe life, not just to be alive, but to live. Finding simple pleasures around us is, as you can see, not difficult. But I think these visions and wondrous sights although glorious by their own rights, would be better served while holding the hand of a heart... that shares your soul. Seeing the colors reflected in the eyes of a lover, watching the goosebumps dance upon their skin as your fingertips caress them in the mystical light of an evening sky. Each leaning into the other, holding the security of that mutual trust and love like a blanket. Finding pleasure in the moment and wishing you could stay there always, that the purity of it all, together, could remain untarnished and blemish free. Yes, as wonderful and as dreamlike as paradise is said to be, I believe I would trade it all for someone to share my love with, but then maybe, that's just me.

And you called me an angel...only an angel could write such beautiful words and let them flow from his heart this way...i love the visions this gives and where it took me...it's passionate....or maybe that's what i read into it or wanted to read into it....it's full of beauty, love, hope...and such a fire burning inside of your soul that it's depth cannot be described....i love the way you ended it...your words are beautiful..and so are you my friend...

I am soooo into these beautiful words! You have expressed a feeling I have had so many times. Several years ago, when it seemed as if all were lost, I looked to the west, and the magnificence of the sunset let me know that it was going to be alright. And now, I get that same feeling looking to the magnificent eyes of a Lady who is quite special to me. Thank you so much!
