Kunta started a boy
But taken at 15 barely a man
Kunta you better run
Cause them slave catchers here they come
But poor Kunta forgot what he learned
Ran through the tall grass that’s when the table turned
Got thrown on a slave ship
I know Kunta said “I can believe this”
There was many different African faces
From many different African places
Kunta then got sold to the Reynolds Plantation
Where he met a black slave named Fiddler
Who was very very patient
Fiddle on that violin
That‘s what he do
Fiddle fiddle fiddle to make the white man move
Kunta fought
Ran away
But got caught
Kunta tried to stay strong
When those whippins came along
But how much can one African take?
So much pain they made Kunta say a name that’s fake
They told him
Toby be ya new name
But he always knew
He’ll be Kunta Kinte
Years have past on the that plantation
Toby as his new name ran away again
With out hesitation
Kunta got caught on another plantation
With an African girl named Fanta
Who seemed to forgot her own original nation
Slave catchers cut poor Kunta’s foot off
Just to be sure
He don’t run off
They move Kunta to another plantation
Jump the broom with Bell as a marriage representation
Kunta and Bell have a daughter named Kizzy
Who grew up and played with missy Anne
In the great big Hizzy
And the two played together a great big deal
But when Kizzy was in trouble
There friendship wasn’t that real
At age 15 or at age 16
Kizzy got sold to Mr. Moore
Where she got raped
And raped some more
Oh no
Try to rape me
I would have made sure Masta Moore couldn’t see
She end up giving birth
To who whom grew up to be called Chicken George
Who for a long time didn’t know his daddy was old Masta Moore
Chicken George had kids of his own
Tom and Lewis
Who he made sure wasn’t clueless
They new about they great granddad Kunta Kinte and his life
They knew about him and how he survived
Masta Moore got greedy and lost a bet
Had to sell Chicken George to settle his debt
Many years have past
And the Civil war is over
They say niggas are to be set free
White man saying
How can this be?
They say they can’t go
They have to stay
Or before they go they have to pay
But Chicken George came back and he bought some land
White man tries to keep them there
But they had two plans
They really are free now
The whole family
I know Kunta was look in down
Proud of what he sees
Now Kunta can really rest in peace
