A step into a poem

Contributed by zenmind on Friday, 14th January 2005 @ 01:18:22 PM in AEST
Topic: Lifepoems

breathing in and out
I've started every poem like this.
It is a trance step into the moment.
A binocular's view of the present.

Every poem opens
as the out breath releases.
A new foundation builds structures
on mind's favor.

Every description tells the same story,
wheter it is joy
or grief.
Each breath is the same.
And every whisper quiets the solitude.

One day another poem will write itself,
and I will remember a long lost quivering
flicker of a story unfinished.
The finishing line will only highlight the
digested homestead,
a forgotten eastern tent left behind,
to move west, farther down
a path leading into the next phase
of thought links.

It will come back and all linking thoughts
will illuminate the picture of the night
fogged over,
dusting patterns,
a filtered cigerette,
coors light beer.

Sometimes, the leaves fall,
golden brown,
and touch the pavement,
cold silk stolen browns,
entering a new destiny of dust,
that turns to ashes,
and ashes to fog until San Francisco appears
in head lights.

Remmeber your story,
a life lived gone,
sparkling diamond Sutra's,
Vedic Upanishad's,
Hindu's transmigration,
Buddhist's interdependence,
Jesus's example.

My childhood spoke,
and now I am young
still learning,
still serving,

still

..................

within intimate grace,
stepping forward

A most impressive write! You've touched base with just about everything that inspires a poet to pen words upon paper ... or screen.

peace
TS

MAGNIFICENT!!! I loved this piece, Zenmind! Well, I love all your work, really, but this one hit home! Your talent to warp images and make more surrel, more beautiful ones than before is breathtaking! Each line is different, each image transforms into something..... that words can't fully describe!!

My dearest friend, there are many words that I can think of to describe your poetry, but the one that stands out from them all is: PERFECT. Keep writing these beautiful, enigmatic masterpieces that you weave so well!! Always a pleasure R&C your work!! Thanks so much for sharing and always commenting so beautifully! All my love. Forever

Your friend,

Stephy. *Fleur*

I like this very much. Very meditative in an odd way considering the mention of cigarettes and coors. *smile* Nice write! Cheers!
