Someone Call Security

Contributed by Diatribe on Friday, 14th January 2005 @ 01:52:58 AM in AEST
Topic: MiscPoems

Electronic eyes on fixtures
rotating back and forth
from every corner of this vacant lot
While he sits safely
within his man made box
four dry walls
one with windows
and within the other
rests a door
So what is he waiting for?
leaning back in his chair
toes towards the air
as his heels rest atop the desk
watching the monitor that watches all
with the eyes that his mother gave him
restless tonight
regardless of the artificial light
He might as well have molded
his badge from plastic
and placed blanks within his gun
he's just your average man
trying to support his son
yet we call him the "cop wannabe"
but he hasn't the training
to defend your average city street
yet he'll proudly protect you
in any darkened alley
when you're the one alone
and in desperate, dire need
so don't pass him over
as just another
b!tchass trainee
or he might only see
just another...
relentless casualty
