The staggered scent of choking,
Pulses throughout his veins.
I’ve heard this knocking before.
Ignored and tortured;
This strung out and irrational facsimile,
Gasps for air but only gets the anxiety.
He’s only driftwood on a marquee murex.
Superaqual and dropping by the second,
His sirens and whistle’s cry,
“Mayday,”
And he calls to God with his last breathe.
He says, “Poison crawls and abandonment is lucid.
Dredge the melancholy, polder shell of a cortex,
And make me the architect,
Of the evanescent welding,
Of wisdom and hemoglobin.”
I scream in black and green,
But all I want is to cry in yellow.
