Good-byes and good-days don’t exactly work
we still manage to eat it, blackened and burnt.
Love exists, but depression reigns
hurt and frustration filling our veins.
Choked up, looking down,
only confusion is found.
(It divides and multiplies in town)
And as I pull the knife from his back
you’ll never believe this simple fact.
I cut myself when the blade went deep
trying to hold what I wouldn’t keep.
And now blood drains to the cellar floor
quenching the earth, and nothing more.
(Except you, in the world before)
At the window I meet a raven’s eyes
trying to tell me he has sympathized.
Bathed in dusk the pendulum swings,
to and fro through shattered dreams.

'sympathized'
I'd try telling you that, but from the impression I get from this write, I don't think you'd accept it.
Laudable, as ever. |

In my friend Dakota's words, "woot." Heh..sorry. This was wonderful. I love your method of rhyming and how you put your stanzas together.
"I cut myself when the blade went deep
trying to hold what I wouldn’t keep."
"Bathed in dusk the pendulum swings,
to and fro through shattered dreams."
Two stanzas I especially loved. "bathed in dusk"..great image. Keep rocking.
