the pligh of the fisherman
my father a fisherman caught fish with hook and line
and made a living, which was fine
along came the dragger's of big buisness, government approved
and it didn't take very long for the fish to be removed
dragging the bottom tore up everything
killing small fish and spawn was a sin
profit for the company's and government too
effecting the living of fishermen more than a few
a restriction on fishing was then made law
all because of a government flaw
many people could not make a living at home
so they and there family had to roam
looking for work in another part of land
they were like a fish on the sand
the government did this for profit and greed
and the plight of the people they did not heed
the elected representative is supposed to be for you
not what the premiers and prime minister tell them to do
a government for the people would be nice to acheive
but in my life its a dream we will never receive
