Our flame

The flame was kindled
Burning brightly for a little
Forgetting just how fickle
The fire can dwindle
I wanted it so much
To reach out and touch
So our hearts would brush
Making the dessert lush
So the fire would burn
Feeling the world turn
Open my heart and learn
As the sea begins to churn
I didn’t see the signs
Making myself blind
Wanting to freeze time
Pretending everything's fine
I missed saying goodbye
A silent scream
Taken away from me
Letting me bleed
Wallowing in need
Wanting to be free
Cold as stone
Seams unsown
Blood and bone
Empty home
Now I’m alone
Where is the light
Constant night
Endless fright
Missing your might
You where so bright
You where my guide
Nothing to hide
Warm feelings inside
Where nothing but lies
And broken ties
It was gone so fast
Fading into past
Let go of the mask
So it can last
Then we can bask
In our hearts warm glow
