The Dreams Will Live Forever

Contributed by sir_odd87 on Wednesday, 12th January 2005 @ 08:12:23 PM in AEST
Topic: DreamsandWishes

I hold her warm body to mine.
Tightly, so she can't leave again.
I kiss her ear, and smell her hair,
Her perfume filling my nostrils.

I gaze into her beautiful eyes,
And tell her that I love her.
She smiles sleepily and happily,
Holding up two fingers.

I get a chill on my back,
And hold her closer,
Tightening the blankets
To keep us warm.

I press closer to her,
And stare again into her eyes.
My lips grow closer to hers,
How I have longed to taste her mouth again.

I open my eyes,
And stare at the dent in her pillow.
I savor her perfume
As it lingers in my nostrils.

I pick up the paper
That I've read all too many times.
And denying the truth,
Open to the obituaries.

My eyes grow damp
As I read her name again.
I know the dreams will never stop,
But I don't think I want them to.

Spell check spell check..You know the only thing this poem does to me is make me feel better that I'm not some goofy faced geek still in High School

Now I'm going to cry. This is a very real poem, as opposed to mine.... A wonderful write, a few minor spelling errors, but it doesn't hurt the meaning of the poem, in the least
