You would't know.
Our hearts could mingle
In a seaweed paradise
Diving ever on.
But they shouldn't.
I walk the boardwalk
Sand-encrusted sandals
Heart in hand
For that pocket
Of your ragged jacket
Stopping by
For ice cream
In warm wind.
We discussed this
Some future date
In sailing dreams
Unburdened.
Touching
We spent one day
In waves.
But I said
I couldn't stay.
Here I am
Anyhow
Hiding
In plain sight
On the sand.

This conjured all kinds of interesting images. I love the mystery of it and the obviousness juxtaposed. Lovely.
