This rose
was meant for you
as it was for me
to hold close
for the thorns hold my fear, my anger.
I give this rose to you
for your care
since it is I who can not care for it any longer.
The petals of this rose
hold my happiness, my sadness.
that has come and gone since you left.
This beautiful stem is for you
to hold so you shall see,
I am still standing tall.
