Death to My Song

Contributed by bonita2689 on Tuesday, 11th January 2005 @ 05:21:37 PM in AEST
Topic: SadPoetry

It breathes through me - my lonely song
waiting to be immersed in the powerful light of relief
yet fearful of releasing it's ballads to the outside world
it hides beneath the dawn of an unkempt morning
sinking to the depths of my fatal dreams
still breathing but becoming weaker
while it's fragile smile is smothered in lies
it waits to break through to find the lyric it desires
it drinks in the realm of the unknown
drunken with doubt it falls into pitiful despair
still breathing but becoming weaker
the cackling fires of darkness embrace it
choking its voice to a mere word
confined to it's prison, this dire word holds the last bit of strength
still breathing but becoming weaker

I really like the strong use of words. Sometimes spur of the moment poetry can be the best, because you just let it come from inside, without worrying about how to word it. Nice job!!! Post More!! -M

Oh this is so sad,,,
It reveals how much you love your words, your song eventually... And how cruel the world out there,,,
I really enjoyed it..
