I strongly feel my guilt it lingers all around
From it's lonely echo I don't hear a sound
It plays with my heart to decieve
It walks on my soul so it will grieve
It's unwanted visits makes me feel gutless and shallow
Then it hangs myself blame from it's lonely gallow
In my shame I sit and wallow
While inside I feel lonely and hallow
The guilt hits me like a gentle blowing breeze
Then the shame destorys me with it's leaden squeeze
Myself I will contine to isolate
While my mind and soul will keep up the angry debate

I like this, and think we can all relate to it.
Hmmm..one thing though. The 4th stanza is slightly short, but that's the only little thing that hit me.
Great write.

What a good write. Simply stated and it ends a dark theme with a nice bit of dark, dry, and brisk humor. The last line almost personifies the idea of being overwhelmed. You played this out quite nicely. The theme is greatly in depth.....the idea of the soul battling the mind. That's the human condition....the mind wants what the soul can't take.
SUPERB!!! |
