And what of living?
In a nighttime blanket,
Perhaps of snow?
Or maybe a garden,
It is too late to know
Lived Order in her strange splendor,
A sweet seductress of the summer solstice,
Or a weak widow waiting for winter,
While a dire dawn doomed
A lucid landscape,
Heaving heartedly the weight of
harlots
Weather bore witness to when
And where,
God gave gifts galore for
Us to bear,
Jubilant jesters were we to
share
When Sorrow saw the second sun
And
When Order dove deeply through death
and dreams,
Time turned to threaded seams,
Stitched storied stars to steady steeds,
So Sorrow could survey the scene,
Pipers played plentiful ploys,
Distracted Dawn with tinkering toys,
Run amok to save the sane,
Were white wonderers waving canes,
And all convulsed the scarlet slain,
Racing rabidly through rock remains
Fighting feverishly to find in shredded grace
That modesty saved the human race

Lots of alliteration along with the rhyme! This was a joy to read. Cheers! |

And what of living?
Great opening line - I got tangled up in the poem a little bit, it kind of twisted my tongue even when reading it silently.
Not my favorite, but I give you applause for your unique flair.

Gosh, it's nice to read one of your poems again. Reminds me of when I first came here. You consistently impress me with both the depth and breadth of your writes.

Nice! The entire last stanza held me for quite some time. These first two and the last four lines in particular are absolutely glorious.
Terrific write! I was left longing for more from you...
