The End of Your Pain

Contributed by essentially9 on Monday, 10th January 2005 @ 08:26:17 PM in AEST
Topic: Suicide

The End of Your Pain

The life you led
Caused you to put a bullet in your head
It was all because of the strife you said
With the click of the trigger your fears were shed
The music still lives, even with you dead

Your words still echo in my mind
Your songs transcend through time
I am still trying to find
The reasons why
You gave it all up to die
Not wanting to live life

You gave it all away
With your future gone to waste
The cost to end your pain
You gave it all away
When you had every reason to stay
The cost to end your pain

With the click of the trigger your blood was shed
And your life came to an end
But your words still live within my head

Your words aren't restricted to be
Just a memory to me

Awesome write man! Yet we are selfish for wanting him to continue to be in pain just to hear more from him...i'm not saying that he did the right or the wrong thing...it is a personal subject that only he will ever know about and us as his loyal listeners should respect his choice....

please comment on my work too

Aw good tribute. I know it wasn't your intention but the way you put "just a memory to me" on a new line seems to emphasise that despite what you say, his words ARE just a memory now -- gives that feeling of emptiness.

"The cost to end your pain" -- that's gonna stick with me for awhile. Well-put.

It always seems a shame that poems like these get written. You wish he had never given you the chance....
Great tribute!!!

Wonderful tribute to Cobain. Those who enjoyed his music in life have that music to remember him by. The music allows him to remain with his fans, more so than just the memories. Memories fade, music doesn't. And, that music will always inspire others as well.

peace
TS

I know u get alot of it but Kurt is by far the greatest poet of our time. Furthermore I idolize the man for prsevering for as long as he did through the pain of his inner termoil. I only hope I can last longer through mine maybe see the end of that tunnel. Thats probably why his music speaks so deeply to me. Once again great subject as well as great writting has made this a fantastic poem.
