Forced, mellow interdependency is a wish,
Its sobriquet faked playful insanity,
Residence of insecurity.
White Limo's in washed out daylight,
Elderly, frail climb in.
His house is for sale.
Proverbs in hair salons,
& belivable pleasures in whores.
No experience in any of these,
Just rumours and jokes.
Paranoid, hallowed gathering ground,
Of intoxicating sights & sounds.
Overbearing, makes you throw up.
The undertone of black in the girls stir you,
Makes you want to cut your hair.
The wind feels cold on my skin,
Not in me.
It's time to go home,
Wherever.

I like this alot. I've read through it a couple times and will probably do so again. It is... rich.... sort of heavy (good heavy).. and rather impactful. You drew me in with this piece --- I'm heading back to your page to review your other work.
And.... Welcome to YPDC! I'm thrilled to have stumbled across your page and hope that you'll stick around and share some more of your work.
And... (because I simply feel that I should say this)... but don't feel that the other comment is indicative of the type of response you should expect to receive here. Stay a while... I honestly believe that you'll see for yourself soon enough that most comments are not... well... like that.
Well done! Again... I enjoyed this - thanks for sharing it,

Not exactly the kind of maddened, Gonzo material I was expecting, but I got intrigued by these lines;
"Paranoid, hallowed gathering ground,
Of intoxicating sights & sounds."
which reflects the state of parody (or some measure thereof) in everything described.
Keep writing. |
