Ever So Softly

Contributed by poetryfreak on Monday, 10th January 2005 @ 05:03:22 PM in AEST
Topic: LostLove

It was taken away,
But ever so softly,
I'll never forget it,
Or how he didn't love me,

He knew all the words,
He had every line,
But when it was done,
I was yesterday's prize,

Did I know how it would end,
I probably just ignored it,
I wanted love so desperately,
All I got was resentment,

I should have refused,
At least he had fun,
Someone had to be hurt,
And I was the one.
