Turn The Other Way

Contributed by immortal_pain on Monday, 10th January 2005 @ 03:22:20 PM in AEST
Topic: Suicide

Will you turn the other way,
When I cry out for help?
Will you beat me when I smile?
Will you fill my mind with doubt?

When you said
That you’d always be there,
Did you say it out of obligation?
Did really even care?

Cause.....

Here I am: Sitting all alone
There I go: Still looking for a home

Did you see: Did you recognize?
Could you smell it: The fear in my eyes?

Will you hold me: Hold me when I cry?
Will you be there: Be there when I die?

Will you care: When I cock that gun in place?
Was that you: That turned the other way?

In that last stanza, you're saying you want to put a bullet in your head because your friend got Poet of the Year? That is one of the weakest sentiments I have ever seen communicated here. Seriously... your description of the poem is straight-up whiney... which is actually the only reason that I read the poem to begin with... because I just had to see what all the depressing fuss was about. So if all you're going for is a high number of reads for your poetry then keep up the good work with those eye-catching descriptions!

actually no, the poem is saying that she was suffering and had a frind that "claimed' to care. but when wrose came to worse and she couldnt take it anymore she killed her self and before she pulled the trigger her friend just looked away (which in turn gave her more a reason to go through with it). i just happened to write that "after" my mood shift. I was a tad moody cause my friend achieved "my" dream.

i really liked it. ive often had friends turn the other way, my family have done it before. don't worry about now being poet of the year, im sure it was a close call. soon enough your talent will be recognized and you'll get poet of the year. ^-^
great job, keep the writing up,
avril
