Snakes & Ladders

Contributed by pixie on Monday, 10th January 2005 @ 12:20:23 PM in AEST
Topic: Lifepoems

Life is quite similar to this game,
They seem to be one in the same,
Life sometimes seems on your side,
It’s sometimes cruel & makes you want to hide.

Up the ladders happily you go,
Or down the snake when you lose your flow,
Life is never straight forward & simple,
It always seems to hold some kind of dimple.

Just when things are going your way,
You fall down as a snake comes out to play,
You can’t find any ladders to climb,
You can’t make heads or tails of life’s rhyme.

Round the corner awaits a surprise,
Something that will bring a tear to your eyes,
Life is hard & kicks you when you’re down,
Taunts you when no-one else is around.

Get up & try to fight against life’s muddles
Don’t be put off by the first little struggle,
Start as you so mean to go on,
When you fall try to continue singing your song.

You sure write alot.
I like your ideas,
and you were smart enough
to go with snakes and ladders
instead of chutes and ladders.
