Loose Jeans Bare Feet

Contributed by bohemian_with_a_pen on Monday, 10th January 2005 @ 07:51:33 AM in AEST
Topic: drugabuse

about our friend who went out with a guy who used to get black outs and beat her, they both turned to drugs as an escape

She flicks her hair as she walks down the street,

doesn't care if they care, loose jeans and bare feet,

Bags under her eyes from late nights spent awake,

shaky hands and red eyes from the drugs that she'd take,

So what's under the powder, compact, maybelline,

Back before he had found her,

won't say where she'd been,

Those nights spent downtown still a blurry haze,

In fights all around, woke up still in a haze,

The bruises he gave her, black, purple, blue,

Because his anger comes in waves there's nothing she can do

Good poem. Simple yet sad and one to make you empathetic to the girl. Nice job.
