Razorblades Upon The Tongue

Contributed by kidpoet_213 on Saturday, 8th January 2005 @ 09:25:30 PM in AEST
Topic: oops

We have this strong connection... you and I.
A bond... that will not be broken.
'Til the day one of us dies.
Even though... we've never met.
This connection is definitely there.
It plays...
Upon my heart...
Upon my mind...
Upon my tongue...
Where... time and again... it has stung.

Like razorblades slicing across my tongue.
So sharp... so prickly... so short... the imaginary strokes...
And with the sensation... I could taste copper in my mouth...
Like copper in the blood...
The sensation overwhelms me like a flood.

Oh... please Lord!
Please... Lord NO!
Please... tell me it isn't so!
Please... tell me this sensation is wrong!

I've tried so hard to live up to your expectations.
I've tried so hard to be who you wanted me to be...
But I've failed in my attempts... time and again.
I've failed so miserably.

It's been so hard to fulfill such a tall order.
Now... here I sit... once again... on that hurtful border.
What to do?
What to say?
I'm only human...
I'm not perfect...
Not in any way!
I've have my limitations
Like everyone else...
I screw up and become a louse.

But I've never met anyone quite like you...
Who has so much hate built up inside for themselves.
Sometimes... I find it hard to talk to you...
It's like walking on eggshells.
I don't quite know what to say...
For fear... you'll take it the wrong way.

Then the guilt will play...
Upon my heart...
Upon my mind...
Upon my tongue...
Where... time and again... it has stung.

Like razorblades slicing across my tongue.
So sharp... so prickly... so short... the imaginary strokes...
And with the sensation... I could taste copper in my mouth
Like copper in the blood...
The sensation overwhelms me like a flood.

Oh... please Lord!
Please... Lord NO!
Please... tell me it isn't so!
Please... tell me this sensation is wrong!

These razorblades upon my tongue!

As to where to put it..Life maybe..or tough stuff and times.. I don't know.. but it is good..at least I think it is..I know that feeling of walking on eggshells.. it is soooo awful..by the end of the day you are so tense and tired..afraid to say anything wrong..do anything wrong..you captured it perfectly..great job...
