Am I Ready?

Contributed by O7NeVeS on Saturday, 8th January 2005 @ 08:01:18 PM in AEST
Topic: SecretLove

The cold winter night
Dim with little light
The fireplace glowing
Outside it’s snowing
Curled up like a ball
Waiting for your call
I try to stay strong
But the wait feels so long

When will the phone ring?
My eyes begin to sting
Holding back the tears
I think of all my fears

I pick up the phone
Yep there’s a dial tone
I want to hear your voice
You’ve left me no choice
I want to see your face
Wish you were here at my place
I want to smell your cologne
Reminds me of when we’re all alone
I want to taste all of you
Cuz you like it when I do
I want to feel your body
But you’re out at a party…

My heart feels like it’s breaking
Can you please stop the aching?
Why can’t you just be stable?
Then we’d be able
To be together you and I
Concentrating on our lives

But no, that can’t be
Cuz you’re not ready for me
I’m ready for you
But am I, is this really true?

the picture this made in my mind was really sad...poor little tanya lying in bed, curled up in a blanket...waiting next to the phone, so depressing :( i hope he called u, it would be so sad to think u were like that for long...great poem, i really liked this one.
