aa REFLECTIONS OF MY LIFE

AT AGE EIGHTEEN I JOINED THE NAVY AND WENT TO SEA
IT WASNT MY CHOICE BUT IT HAD TO BE
LEAVING FAMILY AND LOVED ONES WASN'T EASY YOU SEE
BUT THE GOVERMENT SAID IT HAD TO BE
SIXTY DOLLARS A MONTH WAS MY PAY
WHICH WAS'NT VERY MUCH YOU WILL SAY
AFTER TWO AND A HALF YEARS IT WAS DONE
AND I SAY TODAY IT WASN'T MUCH FUN
EDUCATION AND LEARNING I MISSED A LOT
AND TO THIS DAY I HAVENT FORGOT
MANY JOBS I'VE HAD SINCE TO MAKE A LIVING
AND TO SAY I ENJOYED THEM ALL I WOULD BE FIBBING
AT TWENTYONE I MARRIED MY LOVE
AND FOR THAT I THANK GOD ABOVE
TWO PRECIOUS CHILDREN CAME INTO OUR LIFE
AND FOR THAT I THANK MY LOVING WIFE
MANY YEARS HAVE PASSED SINCE THAT TIME IN MY YOUTH
BUT ITS BEEN A GOOD LIFE AND I'M TELLING THE TRUTH.
