I am breathing hard
My muscles throb
This pain is bearable
But my head is not.
So unbelievable
yet Undeniable
What happened tonight
I will never condone.
Would you turn away
As you saw you best friend broken
By one you thought loved you
And you were in lust with?
A silver statue
Small and fragile
Painted with the blood of my son.
Do you choose your dignity
Or to give in to desire?
And my statue shakes in fury
At my stupidity
I drink deeply from his heart
He sits to watch me
Wanting to say something.
But he can't with his guilt,
He lies on the floor
And I watch from my high-backed chair
I stroke my silver statue
And soothe my son
Whom it is of
For because of my hatred
He is dead.
