you think you’ve seen the apocalypse on television
but cameras are not there when true devastation strikes
you think you’re prepared for death and the pain of life,
love, true love and emptiness
you’re rich, your gold is right there
wrapped around your wrist
(keeps you from slitting)
your wife, she’s sitting there
across the room
(is) she (is) what you dreamed of when you were
hunting for luck (?) (.)
I cannot tell you,
old friend of mine
but sometimes I envy your happiness
