She Died

Contributed by kidpoet_213 on Thursday, 6th January 2005 @ 09:47:16 PM in AEST
Topic: EmotionalPoetry

Day after day.
Night after night.
He would creep to her bedside…
And it wasn’t a kiss that he was after.
He wanted something more…
Something more from his little girl…
Now… with her innocence lost.
She’s paid the ultimate cost.

‘Cause the child inside of her… has died.
It’s been beaten to a pulp…
Time after time…
It’s been robbed of it’s innocent thoughts.

Murdered… by the one man…
She thought she could always trust.
But her took her life and turned it upside down… inside out
And made it a living hell!

Now… there’s nothing left to tell…
Except… that…

She died.
The little girl that once lived inside.
She died.
To rise no more from the ashes of this life.
She died.
A beaten and broken little girl.
She died.
One day… a long time ago.
She died.
Without ever being a little girl.
She died.

Now the little girl has grown up
And she’s tired.
Emotionally spent.
Mentally twisted.
This young girl lives.
Physically pained.
But there’s nothing to be gained.
‘Cause push has finally come to shove.
Shove has finally come to push.

Nothing more.
Nothing less.
This is all she’s ever seen and known.
This is all that’s ever been done to her…
She’s just been living on broken promises and empty dreams
Her whole life through…
Wishing for things to be…
Different somehow…
Somehow renewed.

For all these years…
She felt like somebody’s dirty play thing
Spread out…
Soiled…
And used.
Then thrown away.
It’s been a never ending cycle of abuse.

One long… living nightmare…
Lived in a fiery hell…
But… now… she’s got to reach deep down inside herself…
And resurrect that little girl.
‘Cause although… she died…
She’s still alive…
Tucked away beneath the all pain
Hidden out of daddy’s sight…

She’s alive.
The little girl that lives inside.
She’s alive.
To rise out of the ashes of this life.
She’s alive.
Not beaten and broken anymore.
She’s alive.
To set straight the path that she once trod
She’s alive.
To make him pay for all of his wrongs.
She’s alive.

All that he has done to her…
Has only made her stronger.
Like a phoenix rising out of the ashes of a fire…
So… shall this life rise out of the ashes of time.

She died… yet she’s still alive!
