Across The Ocean

Contributed by New_York_Chick on Thursday, 6th January 2005 @ 09:06:16 PM in AEST
Topic: FriendshipPoetry

You can be across the ocean
Far away, and I miss you sometimes
But your letters make me forget about
Being sad, they bring new smiles

I get scared you'll be tired of keeping in touch
I've already grown to depend on you
But when you call me, you tell so much
I know that in a way I help you too

I think of this as an easy test
And it hasn't taken us that long to pass
We're still the best of friends
Thank you for giving me a break from worrying
I know this'll never end

This is very sweet. I hope your love never gets tired, like mine did.

Long distance relationships are hard to maintain, but can be rewarding. I think this is a strong poem, which describes genuine candour and friendship very effectively.

Well worth reading, NYC.
Thanks for sharing.
