Off To Sleep

Close your eyes and go to sleep
Your hand in mine I promise to keep
Let me hold you through-out the night
A sense of safety until morning light
I pray pleasant thoughts enter your mind
From the moment of sleep until morning time
You’re safe and warm here on your bed
With a fluffy pillow to lay your head
Pleasant dreams my little man
As your eyes fill with sand
Your daddy will stay here through-out the night
Off to sleep, no longer fight
Good night Son,
I love you!

This took me back to those precious times when my children were little and I slept on the floor next to their beds and held their hands whenever they were sick. Never thought I'd miss those days, but reading this, I do. Thanks for sharing something so real.

Such a beautiful write.
I miss looking at my daughter sleeping and holding her tight. She is grown up now still have hugs and cuddles but when they are small it is so wonderful.
