Prisoner of Love

Topic:
Grief
|
this fate that's blinding
engulfs me in its fiery wrath
clutching my heart without a fragrance of mercy
breaking my bones; seemingly sickened and blood-thirsty
kissing without a promise of taste
speaking of love only as an excuse for hate
touching my face as if to caress
strangling this innocent soul; how I am blessed
baring hatred that attacks with envy
hugging to smother it's oblivious enemy
thoughtless love take me captive
and find but another that will be ever-lasting

I love the way the poem bombards you with words and imagery.
It has a satisfying aftertaste
(if that makes sense)
