One floats amongst the trees
To whisper deep endearing thoughts to me
And I ask my dreams, "Oh, shall I breathe?"
This all planted in me like a seed
The lingering smoke that pulls at my seams
In truth I don't know what to believe
The dust's cleared away from what I'd forseen
Yet it's not at all what I perceived
*Chorus*So gather me up like so many twigs
And cast me away into your fire's embers
I smolder and fade like the falling ash
Are your secrects blind?
One makes the toast of blood
To preach of everlasting sanctity
We raise or goblets to what we should
Without knowing what one bore inwardly
*Chorus*
Beneath the shadows it's clear
In the dust is what you fear
But here it's real
