Knowing is living there with her
in her world, in her mind
what does she do it for?
she doesn't look like that "kind"
we went shopping today
just for the things girls buy
but she couldn't shake the feeling away
although she did try...
i gave her pills to help her deel
but she thought of only one thing
she wanted to be numb; not feel
hooked like a puppet on a string
we hung out like the old days
before the train came in the station
now she lives in new ways
trapped in desperation

being afraid only wastes time and energy. only if you use it as motivation, should you have it. your friend needs help. she needs help to realize what she is giving up for drugs and whats shes getting instead. people who are on drugs have said that its worse being on them, than without them, but they are too addicted to quit. but you probably know all of this, so im just boring you.
about your poem. i thought that as i read this, it got progressively better. your last stanza, in my mind, was outstandingly put. |

I'm with 9..I liked the last for best too..ya know I was hooked on adavan for awhile..I know it can't compare to anything really hard..but when I had to come off it..man..I was ready to ask a friend to go score for me..the feeling was so awful..like I was crawling inside..I had someone to help me..or I would have gone nuts..and that's a mild sedative..it gave me empathy for addicts.. but 9s right; your friend needs treatment..probably long term too..sigh..I know you are really worried, but until she wants your help or someone's help..there's little you can do. Keep venting though..:-*) |

Good to see your poems again J, its such a sad thing sometimes when you see your friends in need of help and you cant for the life of you help them thru it. Just as long your their for them i hope it'll strengthen them to make things better.
Good poetry like always.
Hugs,

good poem I used to smoke weed to feel
numb and escape from my depression for a
few days, but it was a cheap escape and in
the end only made me feel worse. Hopefully
your friend will be able to shake her habit with
your friendship.

Oh... *hugs Jocelyn*
I'm sorry to hear you and your friend are going through this. Stay strong for her, K?
Like the others said, maybe on day things will be better.
A sad thoughtful write.
Keep sharing.
