My gullible over-confidence, not blood, but
Ichor flows through my veins,
Checked to ease my pains,
Found nothing.
My dreams are filled with screams,
My days with invisible lovers,
Always hating and desiring them more.
Thought I was loved, what a fool I was -
Another dreamer washed up on the shore.

As we both covet and revile the invisible, so we entagle ourselves in seaweed . . .
I found this caught my attention inexplicably. Perhaps I had to read this.
Thanks for sharing. |

Abrupt yet effective...
The last line, very much summarises the entirety of this piece...it is very powerful and significant.
I admire the juxtaposition, presented heavily within this.
An emotive write.
