Desolate

Contributed by kyletycz on Wednesday, 5th January 2005 @ 03:19:16 AM in AEST
Topic: DarkPoetry

As I walk through this world
The valley of waste
My shadow stands behind me
Even when in great haste

When the darkness is expansive
And the light shall never come
My shadow stands behind me
Helping me along

My shadow is my companion
My shadow is my pride
It is my one and only friend
It is adamantly by my side

Even amungst the darkest night
My shadow walks nigh
Never a step ahead
Never a step behind

Three items of candor
Lie amungst a sea of uncertain
You pay taxes, you die
And your shadow will be your curtain

Your curtain from rain
Your curtain from sun
Your curtain from hurt
Your curtain from everyone

But even though its there
I still feel alone
Even thoughj its there
Im still the only one

Why is it though?
Why must it be?
Why is my shadow,
The only one next to me?

Some amazing images in this.
And I love the questions. I duno, I always love questions in poems, they make a porson see what the poet is thinking.
And the questions themselves..I think we all ask ourselves this.

Great write, thought provoking.

*hugs* Phil xxx
