What If

Lifepoems

so what if god gave a choice between life and death,
either breathing the air or never a breath,
knowing full well all the troubles to come,
i'de still choose to hear my heart beat as a drum,
what if our eyes saw into our head,
I'de find mine held an old spider web,
where bad dreams were once caught and quickly devoured,
now dreams are so black the spiders turned coward,
so what if our hands reached into our hearts,
and pulled out our fake loves poison darts,
stained with my thick blood now running cold,
im still infested with regret for my trust being sold,
so what if salt never entered the sea,
from all those crying eyes before you and me,
and happiness slipped into our souring mind,
with something new our backward eyes would find.
so what if the day cremated our dreams,
the sun scorches them into forgetful themes,
where would our hopes come to exist,
with nightmares to burn with the mornings fogged mist,
but doomed are our shoulders to take heavy loads,
of our heads full of dreams and more up our roads,
you cant change the world with a simple what if,
take life god gave us as an ever changing gift.
