Powergames

Topic: EmotionalPoetry

***** you he shouted his hand outstretched
i thought i was going to be hit
for an act of defiance
waking up, clutching the sheet to me
sweating like never before...

...i thought he was coming here...

the yelling the shouting, the "i'm in control!
and i will make your life HELL
if you don't obey"
i woke up to the shouting and the pointing fingers
us kids were only the victims of an innocent
mistake

"i hate you! i hate you!" i wanted to cry
instead i placed my safety in between
his angry rage and my sister...

...no he wasn't going to hit me...

...just yell

screw you i wanted to yell
for making fun of my mother the parent that really loved me!
for hurting my sister and brother
all because you had to be right
damn your powergames
your head trips
i won't take it anymore!!

battered by his anger
i threw the covers over my head
and tried to go back to sleep...

Geez, your father is such as ass. Um, I'm sorry that your Thanksgiving was unhappy, and I hope that everything gets better.
