Night Life

Empty dances with confusion,
temptation & depression.
Candlelit words on paper
echo endlessly.
Running, flowing,
weakly attempting
to make hours pass in seconds
as bleeding accomplished so easily.
But words on paper
don't seem so effective
at ignoring, concealing,
the pain they excel in revealing.
Graduation dances.
Christmas firelight and flame.
Summertime skylines.
Every attempt at distraction,
embittered attempts
to sleep on the ache
and dream it away.
It's the pit of this peach,
the seed of this soul,
vital yet malignant,
inescapable.
Permanent.
Virus. Infection. Disease.
Ever crippling
but never fatal.
Inevitable acceptance,
forced.
Left to stare
at flickering shadows.
Patterns on pillows.
Pictures like memories.
And memories like pictures.
Left to be
consumed in confusion,
temptation & depression.

great poem. loved the images it gave me.
it was a rather interesting write to say the least. different but a good kind of different. maybe just me but it seems to give off these eerie vibes.
but anyways, i love this poem. well written and spoken. great work keep it up.

Ahh i can relate to the "confusion, temptation
& depression" that you speak of in this poem.
I loved how this was written and reminded me
slightly of my friend Lane (SensitiveSoAbused). I give this poem two
thumbs up.
