My thoughts of tomorrow

Contributed by subnet_spider on Tuesday, 4th January 2005 @ 01:34:35 AM in AEST
Topic: SadPoetry

Good morning sunshine,
One more day...
Does it really matter,
What difference does it make?

I turn my head and look at the clock
Its 10 am on a lovely morning
Of the 30th of December 1994
My head is badly aching

I lie in my bed and think should I get up?
After an hour I am finally awake
Walk to the kitchen, just to stare at an empty fridge
I have a really bad headache

Put on some clothes and get out
Not even knowing where I'm going.
Does it really matter,
What difference does it make?

I reach inside the back pocket
And find half a cigarette,
Oh, what a relief,
I inhale it, the smoke tastes so sour.

My aching head blures my thoughts,
I am a ghost in this town, I think to myself
I pass by a river I used to swim in as a child
People there now, they look so unreal to me..

I have probably walked here a few thousand times,
And same thoughts cross my mind every time
Do I really matter,
What difference do I make?

Time passes quickly as I
Slowly walk home, fall
on the bed just to wake up again,
At 10 am on a lovely morning
Of the 30th of December 1994...
