A line is defined as a representation of a lighter patch meeting a darker one.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Come back to the surface
Can’t you see the line?
You can’t move it;
You’re still indulging in a
World of licks and liquor
But minding your manners
Going to church on Sundays
And trying to write out people like me.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Can you see the line is truth?
Neither dark nor light
We can’t touch it
No-one told us it was there
Yet we knew it was
As sure as instinct
Surer than God
As sure as our very souls.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Deep down inside you know I’m right
Drunken creatures of the night
Sexed up; trying to be free
Forgetting the smell of purity
Don’t you want to see
Everything that we can be
Leave the world the way it was
Discover something new?
Nah, you’ll let it fall to waste
Ignoring existential flaws
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Listen
I want to help.
Stop trying to ***** me
Stop trying to ***** me over
I wont let you tear me down
From my perch above
Your dark, decadent, under-ground Hell
I am not the ground you walk on
And the lines you’ve broken
I’ll draw back
The way they were meant to be.
That’s why I hold the pen.
Is this how you are meant to be
Is it really what you want?
I thought not.
Stop
Destroying your livers too fast
Breaking your hymens too soon
Crossing the lines you
Never gave yourselves the chance to draw
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I come holding the pen.
I come holding your second chance.
