You are the pain in my eyes
staring straight at the sun
You are the burn in my heart
lying to me, saying that you care
You are the cut on my arm
bleeding, never to be dried and done
You are the lump in my throat
I'll swallow only if I dare
You are the void in my chest
aiming to cut and scar
You are the ache in my head
manipulating my heart
You are the itch to be scratched
wishing me to run away long and far
You are the drug of my life
causing me to fall apart

Ouch. The addiction of love. What a timeless and painful struggle. Is there any drug more powerful? I doubt it. Unfortunately the worst thing is to give up. There is abundant life beyond it though. You have expressed it with expertise.

I'm not sure if your talking about an actual
drug or something else, but this was a good
poem nonetheless. I enjoyed it honest and to the point no sugarcoating will be found here.
