Recipe for Living

Contributed by romayne on Sunday, 2nd January 2005 @ 05:26:23 PM in AEST
Topic: Lifepoems

If you have your health
You do not need wealth.
Speak your mind
But choose words that are kind.
Do not bear a grudge
And others do not judge,
No need to shout
Quiet words give a clout.
If gossip you never repeat
So much evil you can defeat.
If you speak the words you truly believe,
Other people you will not deceive.
If you show compassion for people around
Blessings upon you will abound.
If you recognise the beauty of this God given earth
Then you’ll understand the nature of birth.
Listen to the sounds of the natural world
And so many pleasures will be unfurled.
Take note of the scents that you can smell
From many the good and the bad you can tell.
If you can feel the sun, the wind and the rain
Then you will appreciate why we suffer pain.
But if at times you feel bereft
Remember on your own you are never left.
For friends you’ll have gathered by the score
They’ll bring you happiness and so much more.
These are the ingredients of my mix.
A simple recipe with no dirty tricks.

I am not in the habit of stealing and have never even heard of the magazine you mention but I will not take offence at the way you have commented on my last two postings.
