Rainbow cranes watch me as I sleep.
Come take me away with your flight.
Click the camera.
Take a memory to hold tight.
Blue glass breaks on the ugly floor.
The kitten runs to hide under the dirty chair.
I live this life.
So come my rainbow cranes and take me away.
Never ending days of blurry color.
I cannot remember the last time I loved.
Breathe in this air and burn your lungs.
I will run away from this bland life,
On the back of a black cow.
So get ready to paint my picture
For you will never see me again.
The plate hits the wall.
We do not have a dog to protect us anymore.
How would you feel if you were me?
Unable to ride your cranes away.
Never ending days of blurry color.
I cannot remember the last time I loved.
Breathe in this air and burn your lungs.

great poem. i like the way you portrayed the sadness into burning air- like someone else could not live that way or walk in your shoes and live. |
