The Song of Friendship

Contributed by lostinmyself on Sunday, 2nd January 2005 @ 03:20:35 PM in AEST
Topic: FriendshipPoetry

One alone is standing strong
Each apart a living song
When they meet through writers eyes
They do learn to harmonize

And thier song's forever lasting,
A silent, but still heard blessing,
Reaching out to one and all,
Calling out a poets call...

Never losing one another,
For in our words there is no other,
All of us, poets all kinds,
Do hear the song, within our minds.

Softly touching far and near
Words of heart for all to hear
As the two songs become one
So the friendship has begun.

Now together in perfect melody,
Only they can hear it clearly,
Two voices form, two pens in time,
Friendship formed in simple rhyme.

Spanning forth across the sea
Words and feelings sharing free
Naught to lose and all to gain
Their song of friendship will remain

I knew before I even read this that it would be a write to remember. The simple fact that two of my favorite poets wrote it together made that clear from the start.

Very well done
