love in delirium (silly flowers)

Contributed by iodinelove on Saturday, 1st January 2005 @ 01:52:08 AM in AEST
Topic: EmotionalPoetry

You're still trying to draw that pretty flower you saw last week
when you opened your window
sitting at that god damned desk, every night the same thing.
your lights are dead, you know, the bulbs blew days ago

I wait, leaning on the threshold
never entering, never touching you.
And it rips my heart out
hearing you cry,
wanting
(needing)
to comfort you.
.
I used to think you needed me.
I was wrong;

I need you.

I need you
to sip my coffee and scowl at the bitter symphony
of sugar and salt;
I need you
to steal my cigarettes,
suffer my lungs the crisp October air;
I need you
your love of me,
your touch
(your kiss)
your endlessness...

I got you some more pencils today, try not to break them so quickly, ok?
I don't know why I'm still talking to you...
you've been silent for so long now

It's ok though, your silence is more to me than
any word could ever be.
And the way you look at me and smile
trying to draw that silly flower
you saw last week when you opened your window
sitting at that god damned desk

every night the same thing...
