i cried

i cried when the planes hit
the tall towers, buildings, and field
and killed innocent, scared, helpless people

i was shocked when the towers fell
onto the dust-paved streets of nyc
tears ran down my face and i didnt care who saw me

i was scared when they said it wasnt over
during the presidents speech that night
and we were told america is going to have to fight

i loved when our nation came together
during the days that passed
was this true form of patriosm going to last

i was proud when i heard of all the heroes
risking their lives to save
their true, heroic, heart is really what they gave

i prayed to God that night
about the terror that happened that day
and all i really needed was to have a little faith

i still cry when i hear the stories
about the men and women who gave their lives
so our nation may rise up from this great tragedy and survive

Wow, that was really well written, brought me to tears as well. Good job, it painted a vivid picture.
