Old Year Passing

There are a million reasons
Why I look forward
To this year passing
None of which
I feel like rehashing
With a New Year
Around the bend
My spirits soar
Once again
New opportunity
A brand new slate
As the seconds wind down
On having to wait
Prosperity and success
Wait without a doubt
So I’ll be eating
Sour-kraut
For when the clock rings
At the tip of midnight
To the past year
I’ll say goodnight
