LET'S LIVE THE WORLD AS ONE

Contributed by steeleyes on Friday, 31st December 2004 @ 01:09:12 PM in AEST
Topic: Lifepoems

In inspiration at the united
compassion of humanity
in the face of the Tsunami catastrophe

-o-

For all those who help them
For all who will survive
For all who have died

-o-

THIS NOW is the REAL heart of humanity
This is what it means to be alive
Seing us all working as ONE
Together we WILL survive

It's all too easy to forget
When things are going well
How fragile are we all
We often fail to tell

Of our common bond
In co-operation and love
Not in endless competition
But working hand in glove

Now we see our world
As it should ALWAYS be
Here we are together
In a caring harmony

Not the false divisions we're told
Not the false divisions we create
THIS is the heart of humankind
The gift of LOVE not HATE

From here we begin again
With soon a newborn year
And with that dawning sun
Let's live the world as ONE

-o-

May 2005 bring a better future
for all the peoples of Earth
on this our common, fragile raft...

wow isn't weird that we need a tragic thing to happen in this world in order to come together. this kinda reminds me of what happened on September 11, 2001. i think this is a great poem :-D

beautiful poem Allan hopefully this tragedy
will unite us and we will see that loving
people is infinitely more beneficial than hate
and wars and killings. Lovely poem.
