Understanding me

Contributed by BlindSuicide on Friday, 31st December 2004 @ 11:23:53 AM in AEST
Topic: EmotionalPoetry

The past is where it needs to be so just leave it there
Walk away from it without even a second stare
Keep it locked away with every key you can find
Stop bringing it up because it is so unkind

You hate seeing my cry
I never tell you when you ask but your the reason why
It kills me to fight with you day after day
You want to talk about the past so i have to run away

I could talk till i was blue in the face and you still woulnd't understand me
You are slowly killing me it's easy to see
I'm your daughter you of all people should understand me

You should know why i cry at night
You should know why i live my life in fright
You should know why i scream
You should know why i have nothing but bad dreams
You should know why i hate crying
You shoiuld know why i hate lying
And you should definately know why i flee
You mom of all people should understand me

Don't you see
It's not about money
And it's not about me
It's not about dad
And it's not about you
It's about all the things you say and do
I hate the past and i sometimes hate you

I loved this. Your anger and unsettleness is very clear. I related to this poem and feel for you. If your mom is anything like mine, then my best advice is to forget about it-family or not, theres no reason you should feel bad because of someone elses actions towards you. From your poems i can tell your an amazing person. Sometimes people just cant communicate emotions on the same level, its sad when it happens to familys.

The differnce a generation will make.
Soon you will wish your daughter would understand you.
Parenting is a dificult thing.
Son aainst father
Mother against daughter.
In every age
Somethings remain the same.
Good emotional write.
