My Lonely Tomb

“My Lonely Tomb” - by J. Samuelson Copyright©2001 01/26

Trapped beneath A blood red moon
Rose like dusk, against the virgin snow
Desolation, deep within My Lonely Tomb
Imprisoned in chains, locked away to wither.

Barred from the site, of the outer world
Devastated, my heart ripped from my chest
Forced, to bare endless self suffering
Misery and pain, hold me in my dungeon.

Her dark, cold words, still stab at me
Unprovoked, lunging deep through my soul
The misconceptions, that she spoke of
I can almost see her terror in her eyes.

Nonetheless, she finally sliced that rope
The one, she willingly let me choke on
And dropped me to, my unwanted knees
Pushed me down, and left me for worthless.

Suddenly, a glint of light seems to appear
I make my way, to it’s well hidden answer
it seems to be beckoning, pleading with me
To come out and face, a possible new day.

This light has promised, newfound hope
And freed me from, her selfish words
This brilliant flash of a new day’s sun
has now pardoned me from her prison.

I now can follow this bright light
It will lead me back into a reality
Where I may receive, the love deserved
And leave My Lonely Tomb behind me.

The moon has now turned hazy white
Replaced by a fiery tainted sunrise
It shows me it’s streaking rays of hope
As a final shadow closes, My Lonely Tomb.
