“For The Last Time” - by J. Samuelson Copyright©2001 01/21
I just want to close my eyes
And wish it was, For The Last Time.
Isolation, and desertion has found me
Without any reason or rhyme.
To feel like you’re on top of the world
But then have it stripped away
To be punished for falling in love
My last chance was wasted that day.
I promised to her my everything
She decided to just pass it by
I loved her more than anything
I will until the day that I die.
I guess to her I was nothing
If that’s what I was, then fine
I just want to close my eyes
And wish it was, For The Last Time.
I didn’t deserve to be lied to
Her feelings for him, said were gone
That’s why I let myself love her
She lied to herself all along.
She told me she wanted to see me
To confirm her feelings were true
I accepted all of the waiting
Did all that she asked me to do.
Now she has just left me in ruins
Self confidence gone with goodbye
I just want to close my eyes
And wish it was, For The Last Time.
I can’t believe it’s now over
Since when has love been a crime?
I just want to close my eyes
And wish it was, For The Last Time.
I don’t ever want to awaken
It only reminds me of her goodbye
This time I will just close my eyes
And pray it’s For The Last Time.
There’s nothing left worth a thing
Without her, I fall as I climb
I now will just close my eyes
And make sure it’s, For The Last Time.
